HOLT PARK ACTIVE LIVING CENTRE - LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

All the speculations are over at last!  This week work has commenced on the new Holt Park Active Living Centre.

On 9th January 2012, Interserve moved onto the land in front of the Holt Park Community Library, and by the end of January will be in a position to start actual construction work on the old Ralph Thoresby School site.

Over the next 12 months you will see the new centre start to take shape as foundations are laid and the outer shell is constructed.  If you want a birds eye view of all the action there will be a viewing point from the first floor of the Holt Park Leisure Centre.  The plans for the new centre will also be on display at the Holt Park Leisure Centre so you can try to work out which part of the new centre you can see being built.

It is proposed that the existing Holt Park Leisure Centre will remain open as usual until January 2013 when it will finally close it's doors for the last time.  Updates will be provided nearer the time for other close-by leisure centres where you can continue to do your favourite activities until the new centre opens in Autumn 2013.

  • Tree problems in Neighbouring Gardens

Councillor Barry Anderson is often approached by residents to ask if there is anything the Council can do about trees in neighbours’ gardens that are causing problems. Unfortunately the Council has no legal powers to take any action if the trees are not the public highway. However, if you click on the picture you will find an attached document that you may find useful in clarifying what can and cannot be done by individual residents.
